The unit works well. I have it in my home office and use it in my RV for holidays. It’s pretty light and can be lifted easily. I find it doesn’t use much power and can run off a 12v battery if I use an inverter. It’s not noisy either compared to others that I’ve tried. It’s kinda like a little fridge with a fan in it. It doesn’t use water and can be used to remove water from the air. So far very happy

This is a very good product. I was impressed by the effort the company put into communicating what it could and couldn’t do. I spent a lot of time verifying their claims, especially about power consumption. I also took it to Adelaide for a camping trip and used it to keep my wife and I cool in our Jayco Penguin in the evenings while we slept. All I can say is that it’s refreshing to see an Australian company trying something different and coming up with a product that does what it claims. I’m a high school science teacher and would give this full marks for innovation and execution. Excellent job and I’ll be purchasing the tent as we’ll for use at home. 5 stars no question.

We bought this cause our landlord didn’t want to install air-con and it was starting to get warm in Perth. We use it at night for sleeping and it works well. You just gotta make sure the room door is open but if you point it at the bed you’ll be cool as. Wifey had to use a doona but I was alright. Noise wasn’t too bad sort of like a fan. We had to put it on a box to reach us but if you can handle that then you’re sweet. Be interesting to see the power bill at the end of summer but coolzy reckon it doesn’t use much power so I think it’ll be alright.

Does what it says, if you read what it does.

Definitely different from any other portable air conditioners, it took me awhile to understand how it works even I have HVAC background. You need to be creative to manage the hot air coming from the back of the unit, yes, it needs some DIY effort, but at least you’ve got the freedom. I must recommend their tent product, makes my summer freezing all night every night. Weirdly enough I found out this product from a friend who use it to cool his pet birds… I look at it this way: its a high efficiency, low power consumption, well integrated refrigeration unit on wheels.

Worked on our Camping Trip
We took this ac on a camping trip to Townsville and used it in a roof top tent. It worked well and didn’t drain the batteries however we’re using a dual battery set-up for our vehicle. We used a pipe to vent the unit cause it didn’t come with one but then again, they don’t explicitly say it can be used for a rtt. Anyway, it was super quiet and did the job. Will be recommending to my mates.

works great!
The koozie is amazing and I use it for the kitchen so when my daughter’s cooking she doesn’t overheat. The house we live in has poor ventilation so this little unit works really well for why we bought it. I may get one more.

Ordered our coolzy a few days ago and when it arrived it came in a nice box. It was well packed and undamaged. The whole thing is about 40 pounds which is what they say on the website. The manual was a little skinny but I guess that’s cause the product is pretty simple. We got it out and plugged it in. It took a few minutes but eventually we could feel the cold air. We don’t really use it during the day cause we have a nice breeze in our house but the nights can be stinkin hot. We tried it last night for the first time and we’re pretty happy cause it’s super quiet. Only thing that can be improved is that it had as little light on the back that can seem pretty bright when it’s dark out. We just put some tape over it to darken it and it worked perfect. All up pretty glad we got it. Be interesting to see our electricity bill at the end of the month cause it says it doesn’t cost much to run. That’s pretty much the reason we bought it because our split costs a lot to run. Will update when we know. God speed.

First of all, after expecting it to take up to 2 weeks to arrive, it was here within a few days, very timely because we had a week of very hot and humid weather soon after. Working part-time from home in a west facing room, my fan was only blowing hot air around. Coolzy has made a huge difference to my work space.

Secondly, it’s super easy to use. Once plugged in, open both flaps and away it goes. Close them and it stops.

Thirdly, because it’s so portable, I’ve used it in the lounge, my bedroom where I used the timer and on my verandah.

I’m very pleased with it and have been telling anyone who asks, how good it is. Best of all it’s Australian designed and made, one of the reasons I chose it.

So thank you Coolzy

Very Happy with our purchase! Such an Amazing air-conditioner, that works so well! We live in Far North Queensland and wanted a low energy consumption air-conditioner, and we got one with the cool focus, refurbished. They say that air-conditioners save Marriages and I agree! ?
Absolute game changer!
Thank you for creating such a great air-conditioner. We can’t wait to take it camping with us and using it in our tent.

Close Comfort COOL FOCUS is a portable air conditioner with just 300 Watts of power, compared to the 5,000 Watts of our refrigerated cooling solution. So for example, if we have to pay 30c per kWh, running the refrigerated cooling for an hour will cost us: 5kWh * 30c = $1.50. If it runs through the whole night for 7 hours, that’ll cost us 7 x $1.50 = $10.50 per night! If you have a reverse split system, it’s probably about half the cost, depending on the power.

If something like the COOL FOCUS is used, it’d cost us 0.3kWh * 30c = $0.09 per hour! If it runs through the whole night for 7 hours, that’d cost us 7 x $0.09 = $0.63 per night. HUGE difference.

I have an office at the front of the house with a large glass window, which gets the morning sun and heats up the room. This portable air conditioner from Close Comfort is the perfect device to cool just this room. If later in the day I decide to spend time in the Rumpus, or living room, it’d be easy to move the air conditioner there as well.

This product is fairly special given it’s designed in Australia, by a company that has invested in creating the best portable air conditioning products for more than a decade. All things considered the Close Comfort Cool Focus portable air conditioner does what it’s designed to do and does it well.

Close Comfort portable air conditioners are distinct from other devices – the single unit is truly portable and lightweight without the need for installation, water or a window duct to run, just simply plug it in.

The Close Comfort unit has appeal to a broad range of users, but could well be of interest to the RV market for anyone on mains power camping or who can generate their own.
