2021 – Company Re-Brand
In 2021 Close Comfort rebranded to Coolzy.com. This included a product revamp to the Coolzy-Pro and Coolzy-Go portable A/C units. While the Coolzy-Pro and Coolzy-Go models resemble the earlier Cool Focus portable air conditioner, and Easy Focus budget model personal air conditioner, inside there are several technological advances that reduce noise and improve cooling power. The breakthrough came when we managed to source a reliable compressor that was able to use the extremely greenhouse-friendly, natural refrigerant R290 (propane). This gas is the major constituent of the LPG gas used for barbeques, shaving creams, deodorants and various household sprays.
The Coolzy models are the latest refinement in a long series of earlier models based on extensive research and development. You can read more about our R&D here.
In 2018. we launched the Close Comfort Cool Focus portable air conditioner in the Australian market. It provided significantly better performance than the PC8. It came with clean white and blue colours, a remote control, variable fan speed and cooling power and several other features. You can learn about the engineering R&D that led to the PC8 and PC9 models here. These models were tested in in Marble Bar, the hottest town in Australia.
You might wonder why we have not changed the shape in all these years. Well, we are a small Australian start-up company. The moulds used to make the plastic parts are large, heavy and extremely expensive to make. We need around half a million US dollars worth of moulds for all the parts.
One day, we hope to be large enough to change the moulds regularly and update the shape of our products. In the meantime, remember that you cannot tell a book by its cover. Even though the external shape is almost identical, the new Coolzy-Pro and Coolzy-Go models are a great advance on the older Cool Focus and Easy Focus models, and you can buy them here, today.
